looking at this, theres actually a cool feature called Show Duplicate Items. The oldschool sidebar is returned with CTRL+S, and my lovely status bar at the bottom is back to normal with CTRL+/. iTunes can add album artwork only if that album is present in the iTunes store, because iTunes keeps information only for those tracks available for purchase on.

apple didnt COMPLETELY screw me over, they just hid all my favorite features. UPDATE: Bah!! Ok, im didnt mean to fly off the handle there. wheres good ol' Steffler Jobs? WHY DID YOU LEAVE US ALONE TO ROT IN THIS CRUEL WORLD!? it was awesome looking at the bottom of my itunes and seeing that i had like, 2 months worth of music in my library hahah.

PRE-UPDATE: they even got rid of the **** feature at the bottom that, when items were selected, it would give all sorts of stats like full time of selection, size of data selected. i tried to put the old itunes back on my computer but it wont work with my ipod touch, and i think there was something wonky with new itunes video purchases or something i dont remember.Īnd another thing!! they messed with the search feature!! i used to love how it would just make everything else disappear EXCEPT what you were looking for! its all weird now. was it itunes 7? 8? one of those ruled, man. I dont know why apple keeps messin with a good thing. it used to be great to have the cover AND back cover with track listing available, and with the option to scroll through multiple artworks in the bottom left, as well as when i had my old iPod video (you could just hit the center button to scroll through the cover, any other artwork, and the lyrics). 5 months or something? i just realized this FLAW as well. if you've configured iTunes to organize your library, compilations will be stored in iTunes Media\Music\ album_artist \ album_title - if you use the method based on the "Part of a Compilation" flag they will be stored in iTunes Media\Music\Compilations\ album_titleYeah! you know what, ive had this iTunes 11.0.2 for like.Maximum resolution for embedded artwork is 1024 x 1024. compilations will be sorted based on the value you set for Album Artist (or, if desired, Sort Album Artist) - if you use the method based on the "Part of a Compilation" flag compilations will always be listed at the end of your library, assuming sorting by Artist. Artwork embedded into the music files must be in one of the following formats: JPG, BMP, GIF or PNG.The other effects of doing this way are that: The latter is really necessary only with older iPod models that don't recognize the Album Artist tag. You can also manage compilation albums by setting the Album Artist to a common value for all tracks (this can be anything you want) and unsetting the "Part of a Compilation" flag.

You can associate different artwork with each song - just right click on the song, select the Artwork tab and use any of the standard methods - Add Artwork button, drag-and-drop image file from Windows Explorer, copy to clipboard and then paste (Ctrl-V or right-click paste works in iTunes 11, Ctrl-V only in iTunes 12).
